Tour Description
Tavolara Island is a spectacular limestone mountain rising 565 meters above sea level. Considered one of the jewels of Gallura, it is located in one of the most breathtaking stretches of sea in the entire Mediterranean.
With its impressive shape, Tavolara looks like a mountain that has fallen from the sky, suspended between the deep blue sea and the white clouds.
After reaching the island by boat, we begin our adventure with a hike of approximately one hour and a half. The trail leads us to “Pratone”, an incredible natural terrace offering breathtaking views over the Gulf of Olbia.
To reach Pratone, we follow an equipped trail requiring the use of a Via Ferrata kit, helmet, and harness. Although technical equipment is necessary, the difficulty level is suitable for anyone who is physically fit and does not suffer from fear of heights or vertigo.
Participants who do not feel comfortable completing the Via Ferrata section can wait for the group at Pratone and rejoin the excursion afterwards.
After completing the Via Ferrata, we continue towards Punta Cannone, the summit of Tavolara. From here, we will enjoy an extraordinary panoramic view stretching from Capo Coda Cavallo to the Gulf of Olbia, and on clear days as far as Corsica and the Strait of Bonifacio.
At the summit, we will take a 30-minute break to relax and enjoy our packed lunch while admiring the incredible scenery.
After the break, we begin our descent back towards the coast. At the end of the day, there will be time to relax on Tavolara beach, enjoy the seaside, and take a refreshing swim before returning by boat.
